Twin pots

I have 2 classic pots of identical shape.  I like these 2 teapots as they are simple yet unique in design, unmistakably pots made in the early years. They may look like any simple ordinary teapots one may find sitting on the shelve of a shop, but their origin is not that simple.

These pots are made by no simple ordinary folks. And to collect the same teapot made by 2 different persons is not an easy simple thing.

These identical shape teapots are made by 2 different senior masters of Yixing, both are still active in Yixing. How could this happen?Actually, these pots were made in the factory for commercial use. In those days, no one recognized the potters as very little information was available on Yixing potters and teapots. Moreover there was no internet or media coverage on cultural things such as teapots or tea drinking. I spotted these 2 pots when a shop was clearing its stock. Hence I got them for a song. You need to have some fundmental knoeledge in order to pick up good things form trash. Guess who are the makers?

The one on the left is made by Kao Xiangjun, a female senior craft master. The one on the right is made by Xu Yuanmin, a male senior craft master. If you collect teapots, these 2 names will not be strange to you.
