This is a classic shape of a teapot modelled over a section of a bamboo with an overhanging handle. The design of the teapot is unique and elegant. It achieves a high level of aesthetic appeal to tea drinkers. Quite a number of Yixing potters had tried their hand on this design in the early 60s and 70s.
Alans Museum had in the past decade collected a total of 9 such teapots. The maker is known to be a certain Zhou Huijuen, currently an assistant craftsmaster in the trade.
